Joshua McKee: “I support President Trump” in Iran Strikes

AL-01 Republican congressional candidate Joshua McKee issued the following statement to ALPolitics.com on President Trump’s actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran:

“I support President Donald Trump and his constitutional authority as President to make national security decisions necessary to protect American interests and uphold our commitments abroad. When a Commander-in-Chief acts to confront threats and defend our allies, that authority carries both weight and responsibility.

“Our nation was founded on a simple but profound truth, expressed in the United States Declaration of Independence: that all are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, among them Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. These are not ornamental words; they are the moral foundation of American self-government. They affirm the right to live without fear, to exercise freedom without oppression, and to pursue one’s God-given potential without tyranny.

“The strikes against Iran, carried out in support of Israel, reflect the responsibility of leadership to defend those very principles, protecting innocent life, preserving liberty against aggression, and securing the stability necessary for free people to pursue happiness in safety.

‘Strong leadership requires difficult decisions. In moments of danger, the defense of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness is not theoretical, it is the solemn duty of the presidency. I stand in full support of that responsibility and the resolve to uphold it.”

Joshua McKee is on the ballot in Alabama’s Republican primary in the First Congressional District on May 19.

McKee, a decorated Army Green Beret with 25 years of service and a Bronze Star recipient lives in Baldwin County with his wife Jennifer and their family.
