Congressional candidate Joshua McKee announced today that he has signed the Moms for Liberty Parent Pledge, reaffirming his commitment to putting Alabama parents — not Washington bureaucrats — in charge of their children’s education, upbringing, and future.

The Moms for Liberty Parent Pledge is a public commitment to uphold the fundamental rights of parents, including the right to direct their children’s education, medical care, and moral upbringing. By signing the pledge, McKee joins a growing number of leaders across Alabama who are standing firmly for parental authority and limited government.

“I signed the Moms for Liberty Parent Pledge because I believe parents, not government agencies or bureaucrats, are best equipped to raise, guide, and protect their children,” said McKee. “Parents have the God-given right and responsibility to direct their child’s education, medical care, and moral upbringing. In Congress, I will fight every day to advance policies that strengthen parental involvement and decision-making, increase transparency in our schools, defend against government overreach, and secure these fundamental rights at all levels of government.”

McKee added: “Parents, not bureaucrats, should be the primary decision-makers in their children’s lives. I am standing with families across Alabama to put parents back in charge and ensure our schools focus on real education instead of indoctrination.”

Emily Jones, Chapter Chair of Moms for Liberty – Madison County, welcomed McKee’s commitment:

“When federal policymakers publicly affirm parental rights, it sends a clear signal that families will not be sidelined in national education debates. Joshua’s pledge demonstrates that he understands the importance of restoring accountability, strengthening parental authority, and ensuring Washington respects the role of Alabama families.”

As federal policies increasingly influence local education standards, funding conditions, and regulatory frameworks, leaders in Congress play a critical role in safeguarding parental authority. McKee’s signing of the pledge reinforces his commitment to ensuring that Alabama parents remain at the center of decisions affecting their children.
