June Update from Congressman Palmer
From the office of Congressman Gary Palmer (R-AL-06)
From the office of Congressman Palmer
The Fourth of July is always an enjoyable time of year to celebrate our nation with friends and family, but this year marks an extraordinary milestone. This weekend marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. For two and a half centuries, the American experiment has stood as a beacon of liberty, self-government, and opportunity. While our history has not been without challenges, the principles our Founders enshrined in 1776 remain as enduring today as they were then.
Our nation’s 250th birthday is more than a commemoration of our past, but an opportunity to renew our commitment to the ideals that have made the United States the greatest nation in the history of the world. It is a time to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who secured our freedom, honor the generations who have defended it, and recommit ourselves to preserving it for those who will come after us.
As we celebrate this Independence Day, may we do so with gratitude for the blessings of liberty and with a renewed determination to ensure that America remains a shining city on a hill for generations to come.

Lulu's Law is Officially Law
Over the last two years, Lulu Gribbin has shown tremendous strength, and her story has inspired the entire nation. Lulu’s Law is a commonsense solution to protect beachgoers from danger by implementing wireless emergency alerts to notify the public when dangerous conditions are present along the shoreline. Lulu’s Law is now federal law. I was honored to play a role in getting this legislation across the finish line, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact Lulu’s Law, and Lulu herself, will make in the future.

The ZOMBIE Act
Since 2003, the federal government has lost an estimated $3 trillion in taxpayer funds due to improper payments. My bill, the Zeroing Out Monetary Benefits Improperly Expended (ZOMBIE) Act, addresses this problem by requiring agencies to take a proactive approach to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse. The ZOMBIE Act passed the House and is now on its way to the Senate.
