Katherine Robertson Launches Run for Alabama Attorney General
Currently faces Pamela Casey, Jay Mitchell for Republican nomination

Katherine Robertson officially announced her bid for Attorney General of Alabama on Tuesday. The event drew a packed crowd in a meeting room at Regions Field in Birmingham.
Robertson currently serves as Chief Counsel to Attorney General Steve Marshall, a job she has held since 2017. She’s also worked at the U.S. Department of Justice and served as legislative counsel to Senator Jeff Sessions.
A proud eighth‑generation Alabamian from a farming family in Dallas County, Robertson is an Auburn University and University of Alabama School of Law grad. She’s married with two young children and says her top concern is keeping families like hers safe.
“Alabama needs a proven fighter who will harness the power of the Attorney General’s office to protect our communities and uphold our values,” Robertson said during her announcement speech. “I believe the first civil right of every Alabamian is to live free from the fear of violence. As Attorney General, I will ensure violent offenders, including those in our country illegally, do not roam freely, and law enforcement will always know I have their back.”
“On my watch, the whims of the fanatical left will never make inroads in Alabama," explained Robertson. "The woke mob won’t be able to tell us a boy can play girls sports, and we will continue to ensure that George Soros never gains a foothold in our criminal justice system."
Robertson’s campaign will focus on supporting law enforcement, strengthening public safety, passing tougher laws on gangs, child exploitation, and illegal immigration.
AG Marshall himself spoke for Robinson at the event. He called Robertson “someone who doesn’t have a bit of quit in them… Katherine is in the fray delivering results for Alabamians, and I can tell you without hesitation, she is the most qualified person for this job.”
She championed laws that target gang violence, remove leniency for child‑exploitation crimes, and passed the Speedy Trial Act—all while pushing back against federal actions she says threatened state power.

Two other Republicans are already in the race: Pamela Casey, Blount County DA, and Jay Mitchell, a former state Supreme Court Justice. No Democrats have announced yet. The Republican primary is set for May 19, 2026.
