Former Republican congressional candidate and long-time insurance executive Ken McFeeters has declared his candidacy for Governor of Alabama. McFeeters, who ran for Alabama's 6th Congressional District in 2024, is positioning himself as a reform-minded outsider committed to challenging entrenched political interests and restoring state sovereignty.

McFeeters co-founded PAC Insurance Agency in 1981 and has led the company for over four decades. He has also served as president of the Mid-Alabama Republican Club and as legislative chairman for the Alabama Independent Insurance Agents.

In his gubernatorial campaign, McFeeters is advocating for a return to traditional values and a government that prioritizes the needs of everyday Alabamians over elite interests. He criticizes what he perceives as the establishment's control over key sectors, including education, healthcare, and agriculture.

"Can a candidate of the people—someone who will truly work for the interests of Alabama—defeat the establishment forces that have a stranglehold on our politics?" McFeeters asked, emphasizing his commitment to challenging the status quo.

McFeeters expresses concern over Alabama's education system, arguing that it fails to promote critical thinking and instead produces compliant workers. He proposes bringing in former military personnel to restore discipline in schools and hiring teachers who have not been influenced by what he terms the "current educational system."

A vocal critic of globalist agendas, McFeeters contends that powerful individuals and corporations have manipulated markets and consolidated power to the detriment of American sovereignty. He highlights the decline of family farms as a significant issue, stating, "If we lose the ability to feed ourselves, we lose our independence." McFeeters advocates for restoring local food production and securing Alabama's water and power resources.

McFeeters' platform includes:

  • Restoring independence through local control of medicine, food production, energy, and resources.
  • Overhauling the education system to emphasize discipline, critical thinking, and practical skills.
  • Promoting a pro-freedom economy that resists globalist influences.
  • Establishing a government that serves the people rather than elite interests.

"Alabama needs a Governor who understands that our strength lies in our independence—our ability to feed ourselves, educate our children, and live free of globalist control," McFeeters stated.

McFeeters will face U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville, who is giving up his Senate seat to run for Governor, in the Republican primary May 19, 2026.
