Khristi Driver, who currently serves on the Hoover City Council for Place 4, is running for re-election to continue serving the residents of Hoover in the municipal election on August 26, 2025. Appointed to the council in November 2022 following Mike Shaw’s election to the Alabama House of Representatives, Driver has demonstrated steadfast leadership and a commitment to the city’s growth and well-being.

Coming from humble roots, Driver was raised in Blount County, and is the daughter of an electrician and a secretary. She earned a Presidential Scholarship to the University of Alabama, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1997, and later attended Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 2000.

Driver’s professional career spans many significant roles at Southern Company, where she currently serves as Commercial Operations and Product Director for Southern Nuclear Services. Previously, she held positions as Security Programs Director, Associate General Counsel, and Compliance Director, among others. Before joining Southern Company, she was an equity partner at Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker, where she practiced civil defense litigation.

Since joining the Hoover City Council, Driver has championed key priorities such as supporting Hoover’s fire and police services to ensure community safety, securing strategic investments in infrastructure, stimulating economic growth and redevelopment, supporting and protecting Hoover’s schools, enhancing parks and entertainment, and fostering collaboration. Driver’s deep ties to Hoover began in the early 2000s, and she has lived in the city’s Trace Crossings and

The Preserve neighborhoods since 2005. A mother of two, she has served as President of the Hoover City Schools Foundation, Board member for the Hoover Chamber of Commerce, and President of the Downtown Redevelopment Authority. She is a graduate of Leadership Hoover’s inaugural class and currently serves on its Board of Directors. Her philanthropic efforts support organizations like Aldridge Gardens, Hoover Helps, and the Hoover Service Club.

“Hoover is my home, and serving on the City Council has been an honor and learning experience” said Driver.

“I’m running to continue building a safe, thriving, and connected community where families and businesses can flourish. I believe that by bringing people together, we can shape a brighter future for Hoover.”
