Talladega County Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore endorses Katherine Robertson, citing her decade of experience and strong ties to law enforcement
Talladega County Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore has endorsed Republican Katherine Robertson in the race for Alabama Attorney General, pointing to her experience and readiness to lead the office.
In a statement, Kilgore praised Robertson’s background and her time serving in the Attorney General’s Office.
“I am proud to support Katherine Robertson in her race for Attorney General. There is no doubt in my mind that she is the right person for the job. Her experience serving as Chief Counsel for the last ten years will ensure a seamless transition in the office, which will serve the law enforcement community and the People of Alabama well. I’ll be voting for her in May and ask that you do the same,” said Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore.
Robertson has served as Chief Counsel in the Alabama Attorney General’s Office for the past decade. During that time, she has worked closely with law enforcement agencies and has taken part in legal efforts defending state authority and public safety priorities.
Responding to the endorsement, Robertson thanked Kilgore and emphasized her focus on crime and support for officers across the State.
“I want to thank Sheriff Kilgore for his endorsement and for his unwavering commitment to keeping our communities safe. I look forward to continuing to help Sheriff Kilgore and other law enforcement leaders like him from around the state fight with a clear pro-law-and-order agenda. As Attorney General, my top priority will be cracking down on crime, and putting the full weight of the office behind those who protect us. Alabama deserves tough, proven leadership that puts public safety first. That’s exactly the type of leadership I’ll offer,” Robertson said.
The Kilgore endorsement adds to a growing list of supporters backing Robertson’s campaign. She has earned support from 20 active law enforcement leaders Statewide, along with several major organizations. Those include the Republican Attorneys General Association, the Alabama Farmers Federation, the Alabama Forestry Association, the Petroleum and Convenience Marketers of Alabama, the Associated Builders and Contractors of Alabama, and the Alabama Cattlemen Association BEEF PAC.
Robertson will face off against former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell and Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey in the May 19 primary.
