WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a startling revelation, newly appointed U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin has uncovered a $2 billion allocation from the Biden-Harris administration directed to a nonprofit group with ties to Stacey Abrams, raising significant ethical and financial concerns. The funds were part of a broader $20 billion in taxpayer dollars that had been parked in an external financial institution, allegedly to limit government oversight.

Discovery of the 'Gold Bars'

Administrator Zeldin’s investigation revealed that the funds were designated for Power Forward Communities (PFC), a nonprofit founded in 2023 with reported revenues of just $100 in its first year. The group, linked to Abrams through her role as senior counsel at Rewiring America, was set to receive the $2 billion grant as part of the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF), a program created under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

Zeldin, in an interview with the Washington Free Beacon, stated:

“I made a commitment to members of Congress and to the American people to be a good steward of tax dollars, and I’ve wasted no time in keeping my word. When we learned about the Biden administration’s scheme to quickly park $20 billion outside the agency, we suspected that some organizations were created out of thin air just to take advantage of this.”

The revelation has intensified scrutiny over the Biden administration’s handling of taxpayer money, with many questioning why an organization with almost no financial history was chosen for such a substantial grant.

Conflicts of Interest and Misuse of Funds

Further investigations have revealed that major beneficiaries of the EPA’s funding initiatives include former Biden administration officials, major Democratic donors, and organizations aligned with progressive climate agendas. One particularly glaring case involves Jahi Wise, a former Biden administration official who oversaw the GGRF and directed a $5 billion grant to his former employer, the Coalition for Green Capital.

Zeldin emphasized the scale of the issue, telling the Free Beacon:

“The waste and abuse was so deeply interwoven in the last administration that not only did the leaders who oversaw this not bat an eye at billions of your taxpayer dollars going towards partisan pet projects, but serious conflicts of interest were ignored. That should have raised red flags.”

The New York Post further reported that the funds were allocated in a rushed manner, with some organizations receiving massive sums before they had even developed detailed budgets or financial plans.

Political Implications and Calls for Oversight

The discovery of these funds has triggered widespread political reactions, with congressional Republicans calling for immediate hearings and accountability. Zeldin’s findings have reinforced longstanding concerns among GOP lawmakers that the Biden administration was using federal climate initiatives as a “slush fund” for partisan allies.

Former President Donald Trump’s administration has vowed to put an end to such financial mismanagement. “Those days are over,” Zeldin declared, emphasizing that his office is committed to ensuring transparency and responsible use of taxpayer funds moving forward.

Moving Forward

The Biden-era financial allocations are now under intense scrutiny, with demands for greater oversight into how Green New Deal programs were structured and executed. Meanwhile, Power Forward Communities, the primary recipient of the controversial $2 billion grant, has yet to publicly respond to the allegations.

As Zeldin and his team continue their investigations, the implications of this discovery may reshape the conversation around federal climate funding and government accountability for years to come.
