ProgressPAC, the political action committee of the Business Council of Alabama (BCA), has formally endorsed Jody Linton for the Alabama State House in District 91. The announcement, made this week, highlights Linton’s record as a small-business owner, fiscal conservative, and community leader with deep ties across the Wiregrass region.

District 91, which includes parts of Coffee and surrounding counties, is opening up as current Rep. Rhett Marques pursues a U.S. House campaign in 2026.

Helena Duncan, President and CEO of BCA, said Linton’s real-world leadership sets him apart.

“Jody Linton brings exactly the kind of real-world experience and common-sense leadership our State needs,” Duncan said. “He has spent decades creating jobs, balancing budgets, and helping businesses succeed—not in theory, but in practice. ProgressPAC is proud to stand behind a candidate who will put Alabama families, workers, and small businesses first.”

Duncan leads the Business Council of Alabama, an organization that advocates for pro-business legislation and economic development across the state. Since becoming President and CEO in 2022, she has focused on promoting sustained job growth and strong business environments in Montgomery and beyond.

Linton, a Troy University graduate, has spent more than 25 years building and managing successful businesses. His work includes more than a decade with Carr, Riggs & Ingram, one of Alabama’s largest accounting firms, where he advised other businesses on financial management and planning.

Alan Clark, Chair of ProgressPAC’s regional advisory committee for southeast Alabama, echoed the endorsement.

“State House District 91 deserves a representative who understands fiscal discipline and responsible leadership,” Clark said. “Jody has a track record of doing things the right way—managing money wisely, serving his community, and standing firm on smart business principles. He will be a strong voice in Montgomery for limited government and small businesses.”

ProgressPAC was founded in 1993 and operates as the political arm of the Business Council of Alabama. The PAC supports legislative candidates who align with pro-economic growth and accountable government principles.

Linton is currently the only candidate in the District 91 race, and no challengers have yet qualified for the May 19 primary. As of mid-December, his campaign reported roughly $22,900 cash on hand heading into the 2026 cycle.
