Mack Butler Kicks Off Re-Election Bid for AL House District 28

State Representative Mack Butler launched off his bid for re-election to the Alabama House in District 28 on Thursday evening, August 28.

The crowd, estimated at well over 150 people, likely approached 200 as people came and went in support of Rep. Butler. Attendees included current members of the Alabama House and Senate, candidates from all across North and Central Alabama, local politicians, and current and former office holders.

The guest speaker was Speaker of the Alabama House Nathaniel Ledbetter, who said “you’re fortunate to have Mack Butler as a Representative. It’s my pleasure to support him.”

Ledbetter went on to describe Butler as “good people,” and told the attendees “you need to keep these people in office. That’s why I’m asking for you support, to help him out, help keep him in Montgomery.”

Butler was similarly complimentary of Ledbetter, describing him as “the best Speaker” of the House. “Even when he’s mad at you, he keeps an even keel,” Butler said, commending Ledbetter’s ability to manage a sometimes fractious House.

Blessedly, the two spoke only briefly before allowing the crowd to spend the evening talking, networking and politicking.

Butler began his business career at age 11 as a “paper boy” for the Gadsden Times, and at age 21, he was the youngest Master Electrician in the State. He and his wife founded and run Butler Electrical Contractors and Butler Properties. Prior to being elected to the Alabama House in 2022, Butler served for ten years on the Etowah County School Board. He served as Chairman of the Etowah Republican Party and served as a Trump Delegate in 2016, 2020 and 2024.

Mack and Connie are parents of four children: Morgan, Caleb, and identical twins, Connor and Carson. The Family worships at Church of the Highlands.
