Reform, AL – Mayor Melody Davis has officially announced her candidacy for re-election as Mayor of Reform, Alabama. With a results-driven approach and a passion for public service, Davis is seeking a second term to continue building a stronger, more sustainable future for the city.
Since taking office, Mayor Davis has transformed Reform's financial and physical landscape. The city's net worth has grown by $1.4 million, with $2.1 million in new assets added, $500,000 in improved cash reserves, and a $350,000 reduction in city debt — all achieved with fiscal integrity and strategic planning.
A cornerstone of her administration has been addressing the city's aging infrastructure. Mayor Davis secured over $13 million in grants for water and sewer infrastructure improvements, tackling issues that had been ignored for decades. These funds are fueling long-overdue upgrades that will improve health, safety, and reliability for residents and businesses.
She also put boots on the ground with road repair and resurfacing efforts, eliminating a $25,000-per-month loss in the city's water department, and restoring accountability to city services.
In public safety, Davis obtained more than $10,300 in grants for the Reform Volunteer Fire Department and partnered with the Northport Fire Department to acquire the newest fire truck in the city's fleet history at a discounted rate of $10,000.
Economic development has also surged, with 27 new businesses opening under her leadership. Davis continues to advocate for smart growth, working with corporate partners while supporting local entrepreneurs.
"This city is my mission," Davis said. "I've led with love, action, and results — and I'm ready to keep Reform moving forward."
Mayor Melody Davis will be on the ballot for re-election on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. She can be contacted through the City webpage, CityOfReform.org.
