Republican candidate for Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries Christina Woerner McInnis has launched a new Statewide television ad, outlining her plan to protect farmland, strengthen the State’s farm economy, and serve without taking a salary.

In the ad, McInnis draws a comparison to President Donald Trump, who has donated his presidential salary while in office. She says she will do the same when elected.

“Like President Trump, I’m not running for a paycheck,” McInnis said. “I’m running because I love Alabama, I believe in our farmers and families, and I want to help build a stronger future for our state.”

The commercial also highlights concerns about foreign ownership of American farmland, with a focus on China and other overseas interests.

McInnis said such purchases raise broader concerns beyond agriculture, touching on food supply, national security, and long-term economic stability.

“Foreign adversaries like China are not just trying to buy our farmland — they are working to gain influence over American companies, acquire intellectual property, and control key parts of our supply chain,” McInnis said. “This is about more than land. It’s about protecting our economy, our innovation, and our way of life.”

She also pointed to foreign-backed involvement in U.S. agriculture, noting that Chinese-linked entities are connected to a significant share of American hog production.

“Our farmland is part of our heritage, our economy, and our national security,” McInnis said. “We should never allow China or any foreign adversary to control the land that feeds our people.”

The ad presents McInnis as both a lifelong farmer and business executive. A fifth-generation farmer, her family has worked Alabama land for more than a century. She also serves as CEO of AgriTech and is an owner in The Woerner Family Companies, a major sod producer with a national footprint.

Her campaign argues that this blend of farm experience and executive leadership sets her apart in a race centered on one of Alabama’s largest industries. Agriculture and related sectors generate billions in economic impact statewide and support thousands of jobs across farming, forestry, livestock, poultry, and transportation.

“Alabama agriculture is too important to be managed by career politicians,” McInnis said. “This department needs someone who understands farming, but also knows how to run a business, manage resources, and deliver real results. We need leadership with a CEO mindset.”

McInnis said her campaign bridges traditional farm values with modern management practices, telling voters they should not have to choose between the two.

The television ad began airing Statewide this week as McInnis continues campaign stops across Alabama and visits to Washington to promote her platform.
