Congressional candidate Joshua McKee has announced a partnership with veteran-led nonprofit Project DYNAMO to deliver humanitarian aid to Jamaica in the wake of Hurricane Melissa.

As Project DYNAMO readies rescue teams and relief supplies, McKee’s campaign is rallying residents across Alabama’s First Congressional District to join the effort. They’re collecting donations of baby essentials, nonperishable food, and cleaning supplies through 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28. Drop-off is at OSO at Bear Point Harbor, 5749 Bay La Launch Ave, Orange Beach.

McKee said, “As a Green Beret and someone who’s spent his life in service, I know that when disaster strikes, Americans step up. Our neighbors in Jamaica are facing tremendous hardship after Hurricane Melissa, and this is our chance to lend a hand. Working with Project DYNAMO—an organization made up of veterans and patriots—we can make sure relief gets where it’s needed most.”

McKee plans to travel to Jamaica Wednesday alongside the Project DYNAMO team. On the ground, he’ll assist with distribution and help establish reliable communication links for affected families. The campaign says they will use Starlink satellite equipment to provide Internet access so people can reconnect with loved ones. McKee also will make himself available for media interviews and live updates from the field.

Project DYNAMO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by combat veterans and intelligence professionals, with a mission to deliver rescue and aid where help is scarce. The group has carried out missions in over 30 countries and has rescued more than 7,000 people.

In past operations, Project DYNAMO has evacuated U.S. citizens from conflict zones and delivered disaster relief in crises ranging from war to wildfires.

The timing of this mission follows one of the most intense hurricanes ever to hit Jamaica. Hurricane Melissa made landfall as a Category 5 storm with sustained winds near 185 mph, bringing catastrophic winds, flooding, and storm surge to the island. Officials warn that much of western Jamaica is experiencing major damage and infrastructure failures.

Residents who wish to support the effort can take donations to the drop-off point or contact McKee’s campaign for help coordinating larger deliveries.
