U.S. Representative Barry Moore (R-AL1) this week voted in favor of the Fiscal Year 2026 Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment appropriations bill, a three-bill funding package that provides full-year funding for key federal agencies.

“This appropriations bill delivers critical investments that directly benefit Alabama by supporting our local law enforcement and public safety efforts and funding vital water infrastructure projects that keep our communities strong,” Moore said. “This bill backs energy and water programs that sustain jobs and promote economic growth right here at home. By protecting taxpayer dollars and advancing these priorities, we’re ensuring Alabama families have the resources they need while standing firm with President Trump’s America First agenda.”

The appropriations package funds a wide range of federal departments and activities, including the Department of Commerce, Justice, NASA, Army Corps of Engineers civil works, Department of Energy, Interior, Environment, and related science and law enforcement programs.

Moore successfully secured funding for critical infrastructure projects benefiting Alabama’s First Congressional District, including:

  • $1,550,000 for Cybersecurity Research and Services for U.S. Port Operations, strengthening port security and protecting critical infrastructure.
  • $500,000 for Fort Morgan Public Beach Safety Markers, improving safety along Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
  • $325,000 to the Houston County Sheriff's Department for policing equipment and technology upgrades, helping local law enforcement modernize equipment and technology.
  • $375,000 for the Atmore Police Department radio communication equipment upgrade, enhancing officer safety and emergency communications.
  • $750,000 for the City of Loxley Water System improvement project, supporting modern infrastructure.
  • $1,840,000 for the City of Samson well construction project, expanding access to clean water for local families and businesses.

The bill now goes to the Senate for consideration.
