Moore Earns Limited Government Award
Congressman Barry Moore cited for voting record aligned with constitutional limits and conservative principles
U.S. Representative Barry Moore (R-AL-01) has been named a “Defender of Limited Government” by the Institute for Legislative Analysis, following a review of more than 100,000 congressional votes.
The award recognizes members of Congress whose voting records most closely reflect limited government principles rooted in the U.S. Constitution.
“This recognition is an honor, but it also reflects the mission I came to Washington to fight for - defending the Constitution, reigning in federal overreach, and standing up for the freedoms of the American people,” Moore said. “At a time when Washington keeps pushing more spending, more bureaucracy, and more control, I’ll keep fighting for the limited government principles our nation was founded on and the conservative values Alabamians sent me here to defend.”

In a statement announcing the award, Ryan McGowan, CEO of the Institute for Legislative Analysis, pointed to Moore’s legislative record and policy positions.
“The Institute for Legislative Analysis is proud to present Congressman Barry Moore with the Defender of Limited Government Award for a voting record closely aligned with the limited government principles of the U.S. Constitution,” McGowan said. “Throughout his career, Congressman Moore has fought for policies that uphold the rule of law, protect American communities, and preserve the integrity of our democratic institutions. We especially commend his work to protect motorists and families from illegal immigrants convicted of drunk driving, as well as his advocacy for the SAVE America Act and consistent support for election integrity. Congressman Moore’s record reflects a strong commitment to constitutional government, public safety, and the liberties of the American people.”
The Institute’s analysis reviews a broad range of votes, measuring how closely lawmakers adhere to a limited government framework in their legislative decisions.
