A new Statewide poll shows U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-AL-01) moving into the lead in Alabama’s Republican primary race for U.S. Senate.

The survey, conducted by Remington Research Group from March 2–4, found Moore with 22 percent support among likely Republican primary voters. Steve Marshall followed with 16 percent, while former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson received 12 percent. Rodney Walker, Seth Burton and Morgan Murphy all polled at 1%, with Dr. Dale Deas Jr. polling 0%.

Nearly half of voters — 47 percent — said they remain undecided.

The poll marks a shift in a race that had previously been led by Marshall in several earlier surveys. Analysts say Moore’s recent momentum comes after an endorsement from President Donald Trump, which helped raise his profile with Republican voters across the State.

The contest opened after U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville announced he would run for Governor instead of seeking another Senate term, creating a rare open-seat race in Alabama.

Moore entered the Senate race in 2025 early on, emphasizing his pro-Trump and conservative credentials. Marshall, the State’s Attorney General, has relied on Statewide name recognition and a record of legal fights with federal agencies. Hudson, a Birmingham-area veteran and nonprofit founder, has campaigned as a political outsider.

Even with Moore’s current lead, the race remains unsettled. With nearly half of likely Republican voters still undecided, the final weeks before Alabama’s May 19 primary could quickly reshape the field.

The poll sampled 692 likely Republican voters, and had a margin of error of +/- 3.7%.
