Republican U.S. Senate nominee Barry Moore rallied supporters in Mobile on Friday, urging Alabama voters to turn out Nov. 3 and help President Donald Trump keep Republican allies in Congress.

Speaking ahead of Trump, Moore opened by recalling the President’s first major Mobile rally in 2015.

“How many of you were there in 2015?” Moore asked the crowd. “Do you still stand with him today?”

Moore, who was the first elected official in Alabama to endorse Trump in Mobile in 2015, said the stakes are high in November. He pointed to narrow Republican margins in Congress and warned that Democrats could again seek to impeach Trump if they regain power.

His message to Alabama Republicans was straightforward: show up and vote.

“When he gets here tonight, y’all stand with him,” Moore said. “Let him know we love him. Let him know we need him. And let him know we’re not going to let him down.”

Moore returned to that theme later when Trump called him back to the stage.

“We all know, right? It started here 11 years ago, August 21st, 2015, Donald J. Trump running for President of the United States,” Moore said. “I was there; many of you were there. And, he is a winner. He is a man who loves this nation. He will not let us down. And on November 3rd, folks, we ain’t gonna let him down.”

Moore also highlighted Friday’s groundbreaking for the new Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project and called for the new bridge to bear Trump’s name.

“I think we ought to name that bridge the Donald J. Trump Bridge,” Moore told the crowd.

Moore closed on a more solemn note, framing the nation’s political fight in religious terms. He called it a “spiritual battle” and urged supporters to continue praying and standing firm.

For Moore, Friday’s message came back to the same point: Trump’s political movement began a key chapter in Mobile in 2015, and Alabama Republicans now have a role to play in keeping it moving.
