Moore, Strong, Palmer Laud President’s SOTU Address
Alabama Republican Congressmen tout successes, strengths of the State of the Union speech, Trump’s plan going forward
Members of Alabama’s Congressional delegation have responded strongly and positively to President Trump’s State of the Union (SOTU) address on Tuesday evening.
Representative Barry Moore (R-AL-01) said that:
"As President Trump made clear in his State of the Union address, our country is back on track - we’re once again stronger at home and respected abroad. We’ve secured the border, rebuilt our military, stood shoulder to shoulder with law enforcement, and delivered real relief through President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts that are putting more of Alabamians hard-earned money back in their pockets.
“Republicans are focused on defending the rule of law, supporting our workers, and making sure the American Dream is within reach again. I’m proud to stand with President Trump as he leads with conviction and always puts America First."
Rep. Dale Strong (R-AL-05) commented that:
“President Trump presented the facts to the American people, and the message was clear: when America is first, America prospers.
"Trump’s leadership focuses squarely on America First policies that are lowering costs for American families and restoring strength at home and abroad — a stark contrast from the Biden administration.
“While inflation and mortgage rates soared to record highs under Biden, under Trump, inflation is falling, and mortgage rates are at a three-year low. Gas prices are at four-year lows, private-sector jobs are growing, and working families are benefiting from historic tax cuts. America has returned to common sense and its core values. The state of the union is strong and getting stronger.”
Rep. Gary Palmer (R-AL-06) said:
“Last night's speech displayed to the American people that, thanks to President Trump’s leadership, America is strong and getting stronger.”
“The American people are seeing the impacts of Republican policies in real time. Seniors are receiving a historic tax cut, Americans are saving roughly $1,500 annually by not paying taxes on tips or overtime, our border is closed and our communities are safer, energy costs are lower, and inflation is going down. The reversal of the Democrats’ regulatory agenda is saving Americans on home appliances and other goods and services. With implementation of the Working Families Tax Cuts, fraud in federal programs is being addressed, Medicaid reforms are ensuring the program is protected for those who truly need it, and the Rural Health Transformation Fund is making historic improvements in meeting the healthcare needs of Americans in rural areas. And the President's Great American Healthcare Plan is emphasizing price transparency, which will make major strides toward lowering the price of healthcare. Additionally, America is once again respected on the world stage because of President Trump’s commitment to ‘peace through strength.”
