Morgan Murphy Praises Trump for Tenacity

U.S. Senate candidate and Veteran Morgan Murphy told Newsmax that President Donald Trump’s leadership hinges on persistence, practical results and confidence-building policies.

In a Friday interview on the Chris Salcedo Show, Murphy said Trump’s focus on “what works” has strengthened the U.S. economy and bolstered national defense, among other accomplishments.

“I think President Trump has shown the remarkable leadership of tenacity,” Murphy said. “The man has just shown that empiricism works. He does what works.”

Murphy pointed to recent growth in the economy, saying he sees signs of momentum in everything from inflation to jobs. “So whether it’s the economy that’s now running at great guns at 4% or greater, inflation is down,” he said, adding that many Americans are feeling the effects in their daily lives.

Murphy also discussed the U.S. military, saying he believes recruitment numbers have improved after what he described as losses under the prior administration.

“Our military recruiting is back. Don’t underestimate that,” he said. “We lost two whole divisions under President Biden; people just checked out of the military entirely. And that’s the backbone of our country.”

Murphy said Trump’s leadership has helped restore pride and purpose among service members. He also highlighted what he called the President’s active support for Christian values on the world stage.

“And now you see the President standing up for Christian values around the world,” Murphy said.

Closing his remarks, Murphy praised Trump’s character in office, saying strength matters as much as outcomes.

“It’s a man who shows strength and who shows character in the White House,” he said. “And that gets an A-plus in my book.”

Murphy is one of a large Republican field vying for the Senate seat vacated by Tommy Tuberville, who has launched his campaign for Governor. Other candidates include U.S. Rep. Barry Moore, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, businessman Rodney Walker and former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson. The Alabama Republican primary is scheduled for May 19, 2026.
