Myrex Talks Education, First Responders, Healthcare in AL House District 12 Special Election
Unfunded mandates, adequately supporting volunteer needs will be a focus of her campaign

Cindy Myrex, Republican candidate in the Alabama House District 12 special election recently spoke with ALPolitics.com about the race and the issues facing Cullman City and County.
“I’ve been going all over the District talking to people,” Myrex said. “What I’m hearing from the people I’m talking to is that they’re concerned about education, especially unfunded education mandates.”
“I’m also hearing that people are worried about our first responders. We’ve grown so much, our volunteer firefighters and first responders haven’t been able to keep up. God forbid you have a heart attack out in the County, or a boating accident on Smith Lake,” Myrex continued. “We have to make sure our volunteers have the equipment and training they need. We also have to find a way to get more volunteers, to keep up with how this area has grown.”
“People don’t feel like they don’t get quality healthcare any more. There are a lot of other issues that people have been talking to me about, but mental health and quality healthcare always come up. I’ve been reaching out to providers and having conversations with them and affected family members to address these issues. We have to do better across the board. Alabama’s better than that.”
Myrex, a long-time resident of Cullman County, is focusing her campaign on Faith, family and freedom. She recently released her first campaign video, focusing on these themes.
Myrex acknowledges that she will be using social media to reach as many people in the district as she can. “I’d love to knock on every door or drink a cup of coffee with every person in the district. I’m going to talk with as many as I can, and I hope everyone keeps in touch with me on social media.”
