Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor Nicole Jones Wadsworth returned to her hometown Saturday to speak before a full crowd at the Madison County Republican Men’s Club’s annual Elbert Peters Breakfast, a longtime gathering of grassroots conservatives in North Alabama.

Addressing friends, neighbors, and longtime supporters, Jones Wadsworth reflected on her deep ties to the Huntsville community. She noted that her own children, who were present, grew up attending the same breakfast alongside family and friends. The event, she said, has long served as both a political touchstone and a place where generations of conservative leaders gather—making the chance to speak there as a candidate especially meaningful.

Jones Wadsworth pointed to her background in site selection, industrial recruitment, and economic development as a foundation for her campaign. She highlighted her work helping attract and retain businesses across Huntsville and North Alabama, crediting strong local partnerships and careful planning for the region’s continued growth. Huntsville remains a national leader in aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing, industries she said reflect years of steady, strategic investment.

At the center of her remarks was her “Build a Better Alabama” plan, a forward-looking agenda focused on improving quality of life across the State. Jones Wadsworth outlined priorities that include strengthening industry recruitment and retention, expanding workforce training to meet the needs of high-demand jobs, and making targeted infrastructure improvements to support long-term growth. She also emphasized the need to improve access to rural healthcare and strengthen public safety, calling both essential to the success of communities across Alabama.

Jones Wadsworth told attendees that her approach is grounded in real-world experience, citing her work in the private sector, as well as her service on boards and committees. She said that experience has shaped a results-driven mindset focused on practical solutions.

She also pointed to her time traveling the State ahead of her campaign, noting that she visited all 67 counties more than 25 times at her own expense before officially entering the race in May 2025. Those visits, she said, helped her better understand the needs of both urban and rural communities.

The morning event also included a moment of recognition. Program Chairman Shane Kennedy acknowledged the absence of longtime figure Rep. Howard Sanderford, who had served for years in the ceremonial role of escorting speakers. Congressman Dale Strong stepped in to carry on the tradition, reflecting the close-knit nature of the local Republican community.

Closing her remarks, Jones Wadsworth reiterated her focus on economic growth, job creation, and leadership shaped by private-sector experience. She told attendees that the same determination that helped build Huntsville into a national success story can help move Alabama forward.

Nicole Jones Wadsworth is a career site selector and commercial real estate developer and is seeking the Republican nomination for Lt. Governor of Alabama.
