NRA-PVF Backs Barry Moore for U.S. Senate
National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund cites Moore’s record on gun rights and NFA reform in Senate endorsement
Congressman Barry Moore (R-AL-01) has secured the endorsement of the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF), adding another major gun-rights organization to his growing list of supporters in Alabama's U.S. Senate race.
The endorsement was announced this week by the NRA-PVF, the political action committee of the National Rifle Association. In a letter released by the organization, the group praised Moore's record on Second Amendment issues.
“On behalf of our millions of members around the country, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is proud to endorse your candidacy for the United States Senate in Alabama...” the letter states.
The NRA-PVF also highlighted Moore's opposition to federal gun-control proposals.
“Finally, thank you for your continued opposition to the Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries gun control agenda of banning lawfully owned firearms, ammunition, and magazines. Congratulations on your endorsement and thank you for your support of the Second Amendment.”
According to the campaign, the NRA-PVF endorsement cites Moore's efforts to expand access to firearm suppressors and his support for legislation that would remove suppressors from regulation under the National Firearms Act. The organization specifically referenced “your fight to make suppressors more accessible by cosponsoring legislation that removes these items from the National Firearms Act (NFA).”

The campaign also noted Moore's support for legislation aimed at eliminating federal taxes on suppressors and certain firearms. Similar proposals have been part of broader congressional efforts to reduce or remove taxes and regulations on NFA-regulated items.
Moore welcomed the endorsement, describing himself as the strongest defender of gun rights in the Senate contest.
“I’m proud to be the Second Amendment champion in this race and grateful for the NRA-PVF’s support,” Moore said. “Our individual right to bear arms is non-negotiable because our rights come from God, not the government. I will never waver on law-abiding Alabamians’ right to own, purchase, and carry firearms. In the Senate, I will continue to work to not just protect but expand this cornerstone of our freedom.”
The NRA-PVF is the political arm of the National Rifle Association and issues candidate grades and endorsements based on voting records, public statements, and responses to NRA questionnaires. The organization‘s evaluations focus exclusively on Second Amendment issues rather than party affiliation.
The endorsement comes as Moore continues to build support among conservative and gun-rights voters during Alabama's closely watched Senate campaign, and builds on Moore’s long history of support for the Second Amendment. In Moore’s first Congressional run in 2020, Moore received the NRA-PVF’s endorsement with an “A” rating, calling him a “Solidly pro-gun candidate with a record of support on Second Amendment issues.”
