Pastor and former Lt. Governor candidate Dean Odle has endorsed Terri LaPoint in the Republican race for Alabama’s Third Congressional District.

Political newcomer LaPoint is mounting a primary challenge against long-term incumbent Mike Rogers for the Republican nomination for the seat. The winner of the Republican primary will face presumptive Democrat nominee Lee McInnis in the November 3 general election.

In a post on Facebook, Odle said:

"I give my wholehearted endorsement to Terri LaPoint for U.S. Congress District 3 in the Republican Primary on May 19, 2026. I have been able to get to know Terri since 2020 and her heart to bless and protect the children and families of Alabama is unmatched. She has been in the fight against corruption in child protective services and she has taken that fight to Washington DC on numerous occasions. Terri is a needed breath of fresh air for Alabama Congressional District 3. Representative Mike Rogers has been there too long and done too many embarrassing things. It's time for a change in our district. I will be voting for Terri LaPoint for Congress on May 19, 2026."

LaPoint responded, on social media, saying, “What an incredible honor to receive the endorsement of Dean Odle!”

Opelika-based pastor, author and the founder and Senior Pastor of Fire & Grace Church and the Fire & Grace School of Ministry, Odle has served in ministry and education for more than three decades. The author of several books and a frequent speaker on faith, freedom and civic issues from a biblical perspective, he is driven by a desire to “confront the lies, greed and corruption” he sees in Alabama politics and to defend constitutional rights at the State level.

He has previously run for Governor (2022) and most recently Lt. Governor, before being removed from the Republican ballot by the ALGOP candidate committee — a move which many have questioned.

For more than four years, LaPoint was the lead investigative journalist for MedicalKidnap.com, a division of Health Impact News, investigating hundreds of cases involving family members, mostly children, taken from their families by child or adult protective services. LaPoint was also an independent investigative journalist at RealNewsSpark.com, and in 2017 she received Michelle Malkin’s Bulldog Award for her investigative work on medical kidnapping.

LaPoint is the author of Voices That Will Not Be Silenced, which further exposes “the dark underbelly of agencies that are supposed to protect children.” A resident of Trussville, she is President of Republican Women of Trussville.
