Montgomery, AL — Patriots First Alabama proudly applauds the Alabama Republican State Executive Committee for unanimously passing a resolution urging all Republican elected officials in the state to formally nominate President Donald J. Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize.
The resolution was sponsored by Perry Hooper Jr., a former Alabama State Representative and longtime conservative leader. Hooper has made it his personal mission to see similar resolutions passed by Republican executive committees in every state, urging party leaders nationwide to unify behind President Trump’s historic nomination. You can access the Resolution here.
“President Trump didn’t just talk about peace—he delivered it,” said Hooper. “He brought adversaries to the table and held them accountable. That’s what true leadership looks like, and it’s exactly what the Nobel Peace Prize was created to honor.”
The resolution cites President Trump’s extraordinary diplomatic efforts in 2025 that averted two major international conflicts—between India and Pakistan in May, and between Iran and Israel in June. Both situations posed grave threats to global peace and involved nuclear powers on the brink of war. In both cases, President Trump intervened decisively, brokering ceasefires and establishing terms that prevented escalation without deploying a single U.S. combat unit.
The resolution specifically highlights:
- The Iran–Israel ceasefire of June 24, 2025, in which Trump used maximum-pressure diplomacy to de-escalate a dangerous conflict in the Middle East, forcing both sides into a phased stand-down monitored by the United States.
- The India–Pakistan truce of May 10, 2025, which halted a rapidly escalating border conflict between two nuclear-armed neighbors and led to renewed talks under American diplomatic guidance.
Since then, President Trump has continued to advance peace and stability around the globe, using a consistent strategy of maximum leverage and strength-backed diplomacy. His administration has helped broker:
- A ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand in July 2025, preventing a broader regional conflict and prompting Cambodia to announce plans to nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his “life-saving intervention.”
- A landmark peace agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda on June 27, 2025, ending months of hostilities and laying the groundwork for economic cooperation across central Africa.
- A U.S.–Houthi ceasefire in Yemen, effective from May 6 to July 7, 2025, which halted attacks on U.S. and allied assets in the Red Sea without conceding to terrorist demands.
“President Trump proved that peace through strength isn’t just a slogan—it’s a strategy that works,” said Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl. “This is a moment for all leaders who claim to value peace to act boldly and make their support known.”
A certified copy of the resolution will be sent to all Republican elected officials in Alabama, to President Trump’s political team, and to the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
