Political Preservation

I have learned a lot from my German Shepherds. Not the least of which is dealing with parasites.
Every living species is affected by them. Even the living breathing political machine.
Everything wants to live and procreate, including parasites that literally suck the life out of their host. They will morph, change, manipulate and disguise themselves to evade eradication.
The Alabama politician is no different. Most are empty vessels who have no idea who they are. But they are willing to be filled with money, and dance for that money, not us. Once they start dancing like a PAC Puppet for the money, they get infected with the elitist mentality that they ARE the seat they hold.
Actually the seat is loaned to them by you, the public, and you can take your seat back at the polls with your vote, and loan it to the right candidate. Unfortunately the public has been brainwashed into believing that it is they, the politician, who will decide when they leave their seat.
How dare you run against an incumbent when we aren't ready to be rolled out in a wheelchair. Decades? We are just getting started. You need us, and surely you must understand that you need me to carry on the good work I have done by allocating your tax dollars.
The public has been led down this path by prognosticators, who loudly proclaim that “His Daddy can buy that seat” and “Money is the Mother's milk” and “money makes campaigns successful” or in other words, we can manipulate the people, because they are stupid, or as one powerful politician told me. “You just don't understand” (read, you are just one of the peons who work for us), and he really believed that.
The goal is to get you to vote, not for who we know is best for us and our state, but for those we are told will win. When you fall for that one, the manipulation becomes self serving.
The problem with that type of unmitigated gall, is we do understand. That is why the voters in this state overwhelmingly want Term Limits.
The career politician does not.

So what are some of their tactics? First they bring in huge 6 or even 7 figure amounts of PAC money, to pay for a consultant to package them and buy ads to convince you to vote for them. Why? So they can go to Montgomery and vote for the money that paid their way. You don't think that PAC money just landed in their account out of the goodness of their hearts do you?
Next to repeat the cycle as an incumbent, the politician hits the trail and brags about how they spent your tax money (on you of course). The unspoken truth is the lions share of your money went to the entities that called in their markers.
A smart person sticks with what works and expands on it, and a parasite is no different. A parasite will continue until the host realizes that this is not only sick, but they are sick from it, and rids themselves of the parasite.
Can you blame them? The smart money behind the politician has mastered the art of political preservation. They collectively have millions invested in their selected politicians and expect a return on that money, from you the public of course.
With the latest bait and switches becoming more open and blatant, the people have realized it's time to take their seats back. There have been more candidates, and I am one of them, who are running against incumbents in this primary election, than I can remember.
I was recently speaking at a political forum when the light bulb went off. The politicians are using our money for their own preservation. Our incumbents were bragging about the different forms of tax relief that they "gave" us, as a reason why we should vote them back in. Perhaps they forgot that this was OUR money they are "giving back" to us?
Not a chance.
The “pink tax” abatement, and the “property tax cap” which could double your property tax in 10 years were touted as as wonderful savings for the public without mentioning the fact that they expire in 18-24 months.
However the most blatant example of trying to buy your vote was the recent grocery tax reduction. IT EXPIRES JUST A FEW DAYS AFTER WE VOTE FOR THEM. The Runoff is June 21st. The tax expires June 30th. We were born at night, but it wasn't last night.
This time there are choices on May 19th, and the choice that people want carried to Montgomery is TERM LIMITS, which I have promised to do.
If you have read this far you might be watching for their next sleight of hand. Yup, it's on it's way. They might just lead you to believe that the REAL PRIMARY ON MAY 19TH was moved during the special session. It wasn't. On May 19th get off the couch and vote for Term Limits .
How do we beat them at their own game? The same way you did with Trump.
1) VOTE on May 19th
2) VOTE for the right candidate for our state, even if you have been told they can't win. Hey, enough of you voted for Trump when the swamp told you not to. Yeah, he won, and you showed them.
3) VOTE for TERM LIMITS. Just complaining about it is not going to bring us Term Limits.
4) VOTE against the politicians who did not give you a gas tax break in the special session.
May 19th you can send a message to the power brokers, that we the people hold the Power.
