President Donald J. Trump has announced he will deliver the commencement address at The University of Alabama, bringing national attention to the Capstone as graduates prepare to cross the stage.

President Trump made the announcement via his Truth Social account on Monday, writing: “I have agreed to do the Commencement Address at two really GREAT places, the University of Alabama and, WEST POINT. Stay tuned for times and dates!!! DJT”

This marks a significant moment for the university, as it welcomes a current President of the United States to speak at one of the most important events of the academic year. Trump’s visit is expected to draw large crowds and increased media attention to Tuscaloosa, as well as heightened security and political interest.

The University has not yet released the official date or details of the commencement ceremony, but preparations are already underway.

This will be Trump’s first commencement address at The University of Alabama, though he previously made headlines during a packed visit to Bryant-Denny Stadium for the Alabama-LSU football game in 2019 and recently at the Alabama-Georgia game last September.

More details about the commencement ceremony, including date, security protocols, and ticketing, are expected from university officials in the coming days.
