On Friday, October 2, 2026, my opponent once again demonstrated his continued fealty to the current administration while Alabamians are struggling to make ends meet.

Rather than standing with Alabama families, he continues to stand with Donald Trump. He has delivered key messages for the Trump administration and continues to support the President today. Most recently, he proposed naming the Mobile River Bridge after Donald Trump, a striking proposal considering that he previously voted against the infrastructure legislation that helped make the bridge project possible.

It appears my opponent believes Alabama and America need two more years of Donald Trump.

I believe we need to pull our country out of the ditch.

The central issue facing Alabama families is affordability.

And this is not simply an Alabama issue. It is an American issue.

Since January 2026, families have continued to feel the pressure at the grocery store and the gas pump. Bread is up by approximately $1. Orange juice prices have increased. Gas is approaching $4 a gallon in many places. Prescription medicines and healthcare remain too expensive for too many working families, seniors, and veterans.

At the same time, Americans deserve accountability when those entrusted with public office, and their families and associates, appear to benefit financially while ordinary citizens struggle with rising costs.

This is not what America signed up for.

As your United States Senator, I will not go to Washington to simply follow an administration. I will go to Washington to represent Alabama.

On Day One, I Will Work to Restore Congress' Constitutional Responsibilities

The Constitution gives Congress important responsibilities, and I intend to take those responsibilities seriously.

I will work with Democrats, Republicans, and independents when necessary to:

  • Restore the legislative branch to its proper role and ensure Congress exercises its constitutional authority.
  • Strengthen congressional oversight of federal agencies, programs, and taxpayer dollars.
  • Exercise Congress' authority over taxes, tariffs, and federal spending and demand accountability for how our money is being used.
  • Ensure federal departments and agencies are properly funded and operating according to the laws Congress passes.
  • Stand up for Alabama's veterans and make sure those who served our country receive the care and benefits they earned.
  • Improve veterans' healthcare by addressing access, staffing, wait times, and quality of care.
  • Strengthen rural healthcare by helping provide rural communities with hospitals, doctors, nurses, social workers, and other essential healthcare professionals.
  • Fight to protect rural hospitals and make sure federal healthcare investments actually reach the communities that need them.
  • Protect your right to vote and your constitutional rights and oppose efforts to make it harder for eligible Alabamians to participate in our democracy.

My opponent has talked about rural hospitals receiving millions of dollars, but Alabama families need more than announcements and talking points. They need hospitals that remain open, doctors and nurses who are available to care for them, and healthcare they can afford.

I am running for the United States Senate because Alabama deserves a Senator who will put Alabama citizens before political loyalty.

We need leadership that listens.

We need leadership that shows up.

We need leadership that understands what families are paying at the grocery store, at the gas pump, at the pharmacy, and at the doctor's office.

And we need a Senator who understands that the United States Senate is not a place to demonstrate fealty to a president.

It is a place to serve the people.

I am ready to serve.

I am ready to fight for affordability.

I am ready to protect our veterans, strengthen rural healthcare, defend our democracy, and hold the government accountable.

On November 3, I am asking you to vote for Everett Wess for United States Senate.

Let's put Alabama first. Let's restore accountability. And together, let's pull America out of the ditch.

Attorney Everett Wess
