Rep. Barry Moore Announces Service Academy Nominations
Moore nominated Class of 2030 students for West Point, U.S. Air Force Academy, Annapolis, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
U.S. Representative Barry Moore (R-AL1) has announced his latest round of nominations of Alabama students to the nation’s U.S. service academies, marking his continued support for young people pursuing military leadership and service.
Moore nominated students for the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy as part of the Class of 2030. This marks his fifth series of nominations since taking office in Congress.
“I am honored to nominate these outstanding young men and women to our nation’s service academies,” Moore said in a statement announcing the nominations. “Their dedication, character, and commitment to serving our country embody the very best of Alabama’s values. These future leaders will carry forward the proud tradition of sacrifice and excellence that keeps America strong. I’m proud to support them as they take this important step toward serving our great nation.”
Each year, members of Congress nominate eligible students in their districts to compete for appointments to the service academies. Congressional nominations are a key step in the admissions process, though final acceptance is determined by the academies themselves.
Moore’s nominations include students from across the First Congressional District, with nominees drawn from high schools and preparatory programs in communities such as Enterprise, Andalusia, Montgomery, Wetumpka, Pike Road, and Eufaula.
