Washington, D.C.- Congressman Barry Moore (AL-01) released the following statement after voting in support of the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which delivers sweeping reforms to strengthen America’s military, restore accountability, and fully advance President Trump’s America First national security agenda.

“The FY26 NDAA is a clear victory for our warfighters, for our national defense, and for the American people,” said Rep. Barry Moore. “President Trump is rebuilding the strongest military in the world, and this bill delivers the tools, resources, and reforms needed to keep America safe while restoring the values that make our Armed Forces the greatest fighting force ever assembled. In addition to critical tools and reforms, the bill provides a 3.8% pay raise for our servicemembers, which is an essential investment in the people who defend our nation. I’m proud to stand with President Trump and support a bill that restores American strength at home and abroad.”

The FY26 NDAA includes major provisions that:

  • Codify President Trump’s efforts to end left-wing ideology, DEI mandates, and wokeism in the military, restoring a culture focused on lethality, meritocracy, readiness, and accountability.
  • Fully fund and expand authorities for the Department of War to support DHS in securing our southern border, ensuring our military can assist in combatting the national security crisis created by years of open-border policies.
  • Reform the Department of War's acquisition process to align with President Trump’s executive order, cutting red tape and accelerating delivery of cutting-edge weapons and technologies to the warfighter.
  • Strengthen quality of life for servicemembers by carrying out President Trump’s promise of a 3.8% pay raise and enhanced benefits for military families.
  • Support key Trump defense priorities, including the Golden Dome, F-47 fighter aircraft, submarines, advanced warships, and autonomous systems.
  • Revitalize America’s defense industrial base by authorizing new authorities and funding to onshore supply chains, expand defense manufacturing jobs, and rebuild production capacity here at home.
  • Increase burden-sharing from our allies, advancing President Trump’s insistence that partner nations pay their fair share for their own defense.
  • Advance American shipbuilding, bolstering domestic yards and restoring U.S. naval dominance.
  • Achieve nearly $20 billion in savings, driven in part by DOGE-initiated reforms included in President Trump’s budget request.
  • Ensure our military is prepared for a potential conflict in the Indo-Pacific, providing new authorities and investments to deter adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party.
  • Extend authorities used by President Trump to eliminate terrorists who threaten Americans at home and abroad.
  • Codify President Trump’s executive order on energy independence, including the use of next-generation nuclear technologies to power military installations and strengthen resilience.
