U.S. Representative Barry Moore has secured millions in funding for Alabama.

United States Representative Barry Moore announced this week that he has secured significant federal funding for key infrastructure, public safety, and water projects across Alabama’s First Congressional District as part of the Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) appropriations process.

The funding package focuses on strengthening law enforcement, improving coastal and port security, and investing in water infrastructure that supports economic growth and public health across South Alabama.

“This appropriations bill delivers critical investments that directly benefit Alabama by supporting our local law enforcement and public safety efforts and funding vital water infrastructure projects that keep our communities strong,” Moore said.

Among the projects included is $1.55 million for cybersecurity research to help protect U.S. port operations, a key component of both national security and Alabama’s coastal economy. An additional $500,000 was secured for Fort Morgan public beach safety markers, enhancing safety for residents and tourists along the Gulf Coast.

Local law enforcement agencies will also see direct benefits. The Houston County Sheriff’s Department will receive $325,000 for equipment upgrades, while the Atmore Police Department secured $375,000 to improve radio communications and emergency response capabilities.

“This bill backs energy and water programs that sustain jobs and promote economic growth right here at home,” Moore added.

Infrastructure investments include $750,000 for the City of Loxley to improve its water system and $1.84 million for the City of Samson for well construction and expanded clean water access—projects aimed at supporting long-term growth and reliability for local communities.

Moore emphasized that fiscal responsibility remains central to his approach in Washington. “By protecting taxpayer dollars and advancing these priorities, we’re ensuring Alabama families have the resources they need while standing firm with President Trump’s America First agenda,” he said.

The FY26 appropriations funding reflects Moore’s continued focus on delivering tangible results for Alabama’s First Congressional District while prioritizing public safety, infrastructure, and economic development across the state.
