Rep. Barry Moore Teases U.S. Senate Run With “Big Announcement” Event
Congressman Barry Moore plans to make a "Big" Announcement on August 15th.

Congressman Barry Moore is fueling speculation about a 2026 run for U.S. Senate in Alabama with a tweet inviting supporters to a “BIG announcement” on Friday, August 15th, at The Barn at Blue Pond in Sylvania. The event promises food, live music, and what many expect will be the official launch of Moore’s statewide campaign.

With Senator Tommy Tuberville not seeking re-election and instead mounting a campaign for Alabama Governor, the Senate seat is up for grabs, setting the stage for a competitive GOP primary.

Moore’s tweet, which included #MAGA and #AlabamaPolitics, and #alpolitics (thank you) reads like a soft launch for a campaign grounded in grassroots energy and conservative values. A veteran and longtime advocate for President Trump’s America First agenda, Moore would bring name recognition, fundraising ability, and a loyal base to the race.

Attorney General Steve Marshall has already announced his candidacy, but he enters the race under a cloud. Marshall is facing scrutiny over his ties to Regions Bank and Alabama Ethics Commission Director Tom Albritton, following reporting on the mismanagement of the Mabel Amos Trust Fund, allegations that have raised serious questions about ethics and favoritism within his administration and a possible FBI probe into the Marshall's office.

Also in the race is former Navy seal and former Jefferson County deputy Sheriff, Jared Hudson, a fellow veteran and conservative who is expected to appeal to law-and-order voters.

A Moore-Hudson-Marshall primary could split the field three ways, but Moore’s experience in both state and federal office, combined with his unwavering Trump-aligned record, positions him as a a leading conadiate with broad appeal.

August 15th may be the day Congressman Moore makes it official. Either way, the road to Alabama’s open Senate seat just got a lot more interesting.
