The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) has formally endorsed Katherine Robertson for Alabama Attorney General in the 2026 election cycle, the organization announced today.

Robertson is the only candidate in an open Attorney General race to receive RAGA’s formal endorsement in 2026. Over the past 27 years, fewer than ten candidates running in open AG seats have earned this distinction.

Before RAGA’s Executive Committee made its decision, numerous State Attorneys General had already backed Robertson. According to RAGA, those leaders believe she has been effective in advancing former President Trump’s agenda and stress the importance of having Robertson in office “in the foxhole” for conservative causes.

RAGA Chairman and Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach said, “It is a very high standard for RAGA to endorse in a primary. Katherine Robertson exceeds that standard and has an impeccable track record of fighting for conservative values throughout her entire career.”

RAGA Executive Director Adam Piper added, “Katherine Robertson is a fierce fighter for the America First movement and is dedicated to standing on Freedom’s Front Line.”

Robertson’s record as Chief Counsel to Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall includes:

  • Leading the challenge to the Biden Administration changes to Title IX and working to protect women’s privacy.
  • Fighting vaccine mandates and defending state sovereignty over health and safety regulations.
  • Building a coalition of conservative female legal leaders in support of former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi’s confirmation.
  • Crafting national policies on administering and refocusing the death penalty.
  • Opposing ESG (environmental, social, and governance) initiatives and challenging what RAGA describes as a “climate change cabal.”
  • Pushing back against what RAGA calls “radical unrestricted abortion litmus tests.”
  • Working with other state AGs on successful Supreme Court cases.
  • Defending free speech and religious liberty on Alabama’s college campuses.
  • Speaking out against antisemitic incidents.
  • Consistently supporting President Trump’s America First agenda.

RAGA emphasized that this endorsement is rare in open-seat races, underlining their confidence in Robertson’s character, leadership, and conservative consistency. The group expressed trust that she will “hold this office” competently from day one, and carry on the legacy of influential Alabama Republican AGs like Bill Pryor and Steve Marshall.

RAGA is the only Political Action Committee in the U.S. dedicated entirely to the election, re-election, and advancement of Republican attorneys general.

Robertson will face Pamela Casey, Blount County DA, and Jay Mitchell, a former State Supreme Court Justice in the Republican primary set for May 19, 2026.
