DOTHAN, Ala. — Alabama’s Second Congressional District Republican nominee Rhett Marques issued the following statement in response to soft-on-crime Senator Cory Booker (D-New Jersey) campaigning with socialist Shomari Figures:

“Shomari Figures is the candidate of the socialist far-left, who want to abolish prisons, defund the police, take guns from law-abiding families, and open our borders to the same kind of invasion that France is suffering from. That’s why radicals like Cory Booker are campaigning for Shomari, and why left-wing billionaires and Nancy Pelosi are pouring millions into his campaign.

Cory Booker is one of the softest-on-crime extremists in Congress, so it’s no surprise he’s in lockstep with Shomari Figures, who has made a career working to put more criminals back on our streets. From advising Attorney General Loretta Lynch — who infamously met in secret with Bill Clinton on an Arizona tarmac in 2016 — to serving on the Biden-Harris transition team and being a leader in Joe Biden’ s Department of Justice, Shomari Figures has been at the tip of the spear of Democrats’ dangerous agenda that makes Alabama families and communities less safe.
