MONTGOMERY, AL — The Alabama Republican Party is proud to announce that Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley will serve as the keynote speaker for its 2025 Summer Dinner. The event will take place on Friday, August 1, 2025, at the Renaissance Montgomery at the Convention Center, located at 201 Tallapoosa Street, Montgomery, AL 36104.

A reception will begin at 6:00 p.m., with the dinner to follow at 7:00 p.m.

Chairman Whatley, re-elected earlier this year as the 66th Chairman of the Republican National Committee, has been a driving force behind the Party’s national infrastructure and campaign strategy. Hand-picked by President Donald Trump to lead the GOP through the critical 2024 election cycle, Chairman Whatley delivered major victories—helping Republicans achieve sweeping gains across the country and reclaim the White House. He has earned a strong reputation for building the Party with a focus on grassroots engagement and election integrity.

Prior to leading the RNC, Whatley served as Chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, where he played a pivotal role in helping deliver the battleground state for President Donald J. Trump in both 2016 and 2020. During his career, Whatley has served in the George W. Bush administration, as Chief of Staff for Senator Elizabeth Dole, and as a senior advisor on President Trump’s transition teams. He is widely recognized for his dedication to the America First agenda and his ability to build winning coalitions across the country.

ALGOP Chairman John Wahl praised Whatley’s leadership and emphasized his accomplishments:

“Chairman Whatley is one of the most effective and respected leaders in the Republican Party today,” said Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl. “His leadership has been critical to revitalizing our national infrastructure, reenergizing the grassroots base, and restoring public trust in our election system. Chairman Whatley and I became friends while serving as State Chairmen together on the RNC, and I can tell you firsthand that he understands what it takes to win—not just at the presidential level, but from the local level all the way to the top of the ticket. His strategic vision and commitment to the America First agenda were instrumental in helping Republicans take back the White House and secure victories across the country in 2024.

"We are honored to welcome him to Alabama for this year’s Summer Dinner. His message of strength, unity, and conservative principles could not come at a more important time for our state and our nation. I know his presence will inspire and energize Republicans as we prepare for the critical elections ahead and continue our fight to protect freedom, faith, and the foundational values that make this country great.”

The ALGOP Summer Dinner is one of Alabama’s premier annual political events and is expected to draw Republican leaders and grassroots activists from across the state.
