Katherine Robertson’s campaign for Alabama Attorney General continues to report successful fundraising, bringing in $360,515 in August. This marks her third straight month raising more than $250,000, pushing her total to $1.77 million in under 90 days.

Robertson, who has served for nearly a decade in the Attorney General’s office and is currently Chief Counsel to AG Steve Marshall, is running on a “Law & Order” platform aligned with President Trump’s America-First agenda. She argues that her experience makes her the only candidate ready to “lead on day one.”

In a statement, Robertson said, “Our message of supporting law enforcement, standing with President Trump to put a stop to the criminal cartels and gangs, and enforcing the law resonates with Alabamians. Our grassroots momentum and backing from pro-life and law enforcement leaders is foundational to our campaign and it’s what is fueling our success.“

Her campaign has drawn both enthusiasm and scrutiny for its funding sources. Robertson received $1 million in June from First Principles Action, a Nashville-based group that does not disclose its donors, and another $150,000 from businessman Hugh Culverhouse Jr. Critics have called it “dark money,” while Robertson’s spokesperson defended the support, saying she “could not be prouder of the support she has received from First Principles … as well as an impressive number of individual donors from across the state.”

Robertson’s main rivals have also had significant success in building their war chests. Former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell has raised more than $2 million and holds nearly $2 million in cash on hand. His campaign has stressed that almost all his recent contributions came from in-state supporters. Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey, who has loaned her campaign $500,000 and reported about $595,000 in cash on hand. Casey has noted that within 12 days of launching her campaign, she received donations from all seven of Alabama’s Congressional Districts.

The Republican primary for Attorney General is scheduled for May 19, 2026.
