Robertson Vows Conservative Fight at Trump Mobile Rally
GOP Attorney General nominee Katherine Robertson touts Alabama’s redistricting fight and urges Republicans to turn out Nov. 3
Republican Attorney General nominee Katherine Robertson used her appearance at President Donald Trump’s Mobile rally Friday to tout Alabama’s legal fights with Washington and pledge a firmly conservative approach if elected in November.
Speaking ahead of Trump, Robertson described Alabama as a “deep red State” and said Republicans must keep it that way on Nov. 3.
Much of her speech focused on Alabama’s long-running fight over its congressional map. Robertson, who serves as Chief Counsel in Attorney General Steve Marshall’s office, was directly involved in the litigation.
Earlier this year, Robertson argued that Alabama should be allowed to return to the congressional map approved by the Legislature in 2023. “We’re still arguing for the State’s authority in this matter,” she said.
On Friday, Robertson credited the U.S. Supreme Court and Trump’s Justice Department with helping Alabama prevail in that fight.
She also used the speech to back Republican Rhett Marques in the 2nd Congressional District race, casting the contest as key to GOP control of the U.S. House.
“We have got to send Rhett Marques to Congress,” Robertson told the crowd, stressing the importance of the seat to the Republican majority. Her remarks came at a rally where Trump also promoted Marques and the rest of Alabama’s Republican ticket.
Robertson then turned to her own race and offered a clear statement of what she intends to do as Alabama’s next Attorney General.
“I want to be the most effective and most conservative Attorney General in the country,” Robertson said.
She said her focus would be on fighting for Alabamians who “cherish freedom” and “abhor wokeness,” tying her campaign to the broader conservative themes of the Trump rally.
Trump later singled Robertson out during his own remarks and reiterated his backing of her campaign.
“A candidate who’s fantastic, by the way, for Attorney General, Katherine Robertson, who has my, by the way, complete and total endorsement,” Trump said.
She closed Friday with a simple message to Alabama Republicans: show up.
“And so all I ask of y'all is just to do your part and show up big on November 3rd, because you and I both know the best way to keep America great is to keep the State of Alabama deep red.”
