U.S. Senate candidate Walker endorses Venezuelan operation, urges understanding of reasons for action
Rodney Walker, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, has issued a statement expressing his support for Saturday’s actions in Venezuela.
In the statement provided to ALPolitics.com and shared on social media, Walker said:
“I fully support President Trump and the United States military forces for the action taken overnight in Venezuela. It has been announced that the United States will take over the government until such time as a new leader is put into place. There was a fair election several years ago that was overrun by Nicolás Maduro.
“Venezuela is responsible for a major stream of drugs pouring into America through the Gulf, including fentanyl, cocaine, and heroin. These drugs are responsible for over 600,000 American deaths per year.
“In the past, Exxon and Chevron both entered Venezuela and established drilling facilities, paying royalties to the government. The current dictator later seized those drilling facilities and forced Chevron and Exxon off their property. This injustice was taken before a world court, where Venezuela was found in contempt. A lien and judgment were issued but never enforced. At this time, the United States has stepped in to enforce the judgment of the world court and restore the property of Exxon, Chevron, and other companies back to them. This property is valued in the billions of dollars.
“I know there will be some who do not understand this, but I ask that you read and study the issue rather than relying solely on social media.
“In this effort, no U.S. lives were lost, and the dictator and his wife are being transferred to New York to attend a court hearing.
“As your next United States Senator, I vow to protect all of our people, no matter where they are located in the world. We will restore law and order and hold accountable the companies and people who have suffered.”
Alabama native Rodney Walker is a farmer, rancher and businessman who brings decades of business experience into his political bid. He has led Patriot Fueling Centers USA since 2019 and has managed his agricultural and land operations since 1987. He is one of several candidates for the Republican nomination for the Alabama Senate seat being vacated by Tommy Tuberville.
