Former State Senator Rusty Glover has launched a bid for the Alabama Senate District 34 seat he previously held for three terms. Glover was first elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 2002 and Senate District 34 in 2006, followed by two unopposed terms.

Glover’s campaign kick-off will be Thursday, July 31 from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Semmes Community Center, 10141 Moffett Road, Semmes AL.

While serving as State Senator, he was the Majority Whip and was noted as one of the most conservative members of the Republican Caucus. Bills passed by Glover during his time in the Senate included legislation promoted by law enforcement and his Alma Mater, the University of South Alabama.

ALFA has already endorsed Glover in the race.

Glover left the Alabama Senate to pursue  an unsuccessful bid for Lieutenant Governor in 2018 and State Auditor in 2022.

The current District 34 Senator, Jack Williams, is running for Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries.

Rusty Glover has been married to his wife Connie for 35 years. The couple have two married daughters and three grandsons.
