MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Business Council of Alabama (BCA) today announced the promotion of Scott McClintock to Vice President of Policy and Political Affairs, recognizing his leadership and continued impact in advancing pro-business policies and political strategy across the state.
Since joining BCA as Political Director last year, McClintock has played a key role in strengthening the organization’s political operations and campaign efforts. Through his work on Campaign 2026, he has contributed to building a more strategic, coordinated approach to candidate engagement, advocacy, and grassroots mobilization.
“Scott has been instrumental in elevating our political program and delivering results for Alabama’s business community,” said BCA President and CEO Helena Duncan. “Scott is the type of person you want on your team—his strategic mindset, policy expertise, and strong leadership make him a natural fit for this expanded role. We are excited to see his continued impact.”
McClintock brings extensive experience at the intersection of government, politics, and strategic advocacy. He previously served as Chief of Staff to former Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, where he played a central role in advancing the state’s policy priorities. He has also led campaigns across the Southeast, helping organizations navigate complex political and regulatory landscapes. With a combination of hands-on political strategy and government expertise, McClintock is well-positioned to advance BCA’s mission and strengthen engagement with policymakers. He is a graduate of Washington & Lee University.
“I’m honored to take on this expanded role,” said McClintock. “Winning elections is important, but lasting impact comes from advancing smart policies that strengthen Alabama’s business climate. Good policy is good politics, and our work will continue to ensure that the leaders we support are positioned to deliver results that matter for businesses and the state.”
McClintock’s promotion reflects BCA’s ongoing commitment to ensuring business has a powerful voice in shaping Alabama's future.
