Authorities have confirmed at least seven arrests and ten child victims, ages 2 to 15, in a chilling child sex trafficking ring discovered inside an underground storm shelter in Bibb County. Investigators warn that more arrests and victims are likely as the probe intensifies.
Sheriff Jody Wade described the case as “the most horrible thing I've ever seen when it comes to the victimization of children.” Speaking at a press conference, he added, “I know God's forgiveness is boundless, but if there is a limit, I think we've reached it.”
Local and federal agencies are collaborating on the investigation. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has joined efforts to probe potential gang involvement and verify the legal status of suspects.
According to Assistant District Attorney Brian Jones, the shelter was equipped with minimal furniture—chairs, beds, poles—and was the site of drugging, binding, and paid sexual abuse. “Children were drugged by Mr. Trejo and tied to the bed, into the chair, into a pole. And then people would come and pay money to have sex with these children,” Jones said.
Court records show the ring operated for over a year, possibly up to three, involving the sale of nude images and paying clients, with prices reaching $1,000 per appointment.
Seven individuals have been arrested, including some victims’ own parents:

Sheriff Wade revealed that none of the victims were reported missing or abducted. Some suspects have confessed; others remain silent. The district attorney released photos of the bunker in hopes survivors may recall the site.
Jones emphasized the scale of the crime: “There are some allegations with individuals that we will have a hard time identifying… they may not be able to recognize or identify anyone.” He noted more victims and offenders may emerge as proceedings continue.
Sheriff Wade and prosecutors urged anyone with information to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 205‑926‑3129. Crisis support is available at 1-800-656-4673, the National Sexual Abuse Hotline.
