Sheriff Murray endorses Robertson for Alabama Attorney General
St. Clair County Sheriff Billy Murray highlights Katherine Robertson’s ties to law enforcement and public safety in statement
Republican Attorney General candidate Katherine Robertson has been endorsed by St. Clair County Sheriff Billy Murray, a veteran law enforcement official and President of the Alabama Sheriffs Association.
Sheriff Murray, who has led the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office for years and now serves as head of the Statewide Sheriffs’ group, praised Robertson’s experience and understanding of law enforcement needs.
“I am pleased to offer my endorsement of Katherine Robertson for Attorney General,” Murray said in a campaign statement. “I have had the pleasure of working with Katherine during her tenure at the AG’s Office and am confident that she is the right person to take the reins. Katherine’s knowledge of the office, the needs of law enforcement, and her meaningful relationships with sheriffs across our state set her apart.”
He added, “Katherine’s work over the last ten years has made Alabama a safer place to live and has significantly improved the environment for law enforcement. I look forward to helping her win in May and ask that you join me in supporting Katherine.”
Robertson, who has served as Chief Counsel to the Alabama Attorney General since 2017, thanked Murray for his support and framed it as a sign of shared commitment to public safety. “I’m honored to have the support of Sheriff Billy Murray, a true hero who has spent his entire professional career in service to his fellow man as a law enforcement officer,” she said.
“As Attorney General I’ll ensure that Alabama’s law enforcement has the resources and backing they need to combat crime, uphold the rule of law, and deliver justice for all Alabamians,” Robertson added.
Robertson’s campaign has emphasized public safety, support for officers, and conservative legal priorities as central themes in the race against former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell and Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey.
