Sheriff Shaver Backs Robertson in Alabama AG Race

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver has endorsed Katherine Robertson for Alabama Attorney General, giving her campaign its eighteenth law enforcement endorsement as the 2026 race continues to build steam.
Shaver, who has served as Sheriff for nearly two decades, pointed to his long working relationship with Robertson during her time as Chief Counsel in the Attorney General’s Office. He said her record shows a clear and steady commitment to helping law enforcement across the State.
“As the Sheriff of Cherokee County for nearly twenty years, I understand the importance of having a true and tested advocate for law enforcement in the AG’s Office,” Shaver said. “Having gotten to know and work with Katherine during her tenure as Chief Counsel, I am convinced that she is the right person for the job. The transition from General Marshall’s leadership to hers will be seamless and that will benefit the entire law enforcement community. She has my full support and I look forward to helping her win.”
Robertson thanked Shaver for his support and said his endorsement carries great weight due to his long record of service.
