Dr. Stuart Tankersley has built a career that blends medicine, military service, and public leadership, with a steady focus on discipline, ethics, and service to others.

A physician by training, Tankersley is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine, and has practiced Family Medicine in Montgomery for many years. A Veteran of the U.S. military, he worked as a flight surgeon, a role that demands both clinical skill and the ability to operate in high-pressure environments. That experience, by his own account, helped shape his approach to leadership and decision-making, reinforcing the value of preparation and accountability.

In Alabama public life, Tankersley has been best known for his service on the Alabama Ethics Commission. According to his official biography, he has emphasized “the importance of transparency and integrity in public service,” reflecting a broader concern with restoring trust in government institutions.

On the campaign trail, Tankersley had pointed to his background in medicine and ethics oversight as key qualifications, presenting himself as a candidate grounded in both professional expertise and public accountability.
