Terri LaPoint—“President Trump had to act, and he acted decisively”
AL3 Congressional candidate supports Trump, adds a personal angle to Venezuelan operation
Terri LaPoint, who is running for Congress in Alabama’s Third District, spoke with ALPolitics.com today about Saturday’s military operation in Venezuela:
“I rejoice with the people of Venezuela, who have been suffering under a tyrannical regime. Maduro and his predecessor Chavez never should have come into power. Their dangerous socialist policies and tyranny transformed a beautiful, prosperous nation into a cesspool of poverty and misery. They killed a lot of innocent people and held an entire nation in bondage.
“But, it didn't stop there. The regime degenerated into a dangerous network of drugs and terrorism threatening the entire Western Hemisphere and American citizens. President Trump had to act, and he acted decisively. Biden had promised to act, but we see how impotent his promise was. President Trump kept his word and America is safer because of it.
“I had a friend in college from Venezuela, and she married one of my best friends. After that time we watched socialism destroy her country, first with Chavez, then Maduro. I rejoice with the people of Venezuela who are being set free from the chains of bondage. Prayer warriors have been praying for Jesus to set the captives free in Venezuela. Today Liberty has returned and the people of Venezuela once again have hope!”
