AUBURN  The Electric Cooperatives of Alabama, which is the political arm of the Alabama Rural Electric Association of Cooperatives (AREA), announced today its endorsement of U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville for governor of Alabama.

The endorsement was unanimously approved by the organization's board of directors, a group of leaders from Alabama's electric cooperatives focused on supporting rural communities and the state's energy industry.

"I'm grateful for the support of the Electric Cooperatives of Alabama," said Coach Tuberville. "Our rural communities are the heart and soul of Alabama. Soaring inflation and out-of-control energy regulations under Joe Biden made life more expensive and sent American jobs overseas. When I'm Governor, I'll work with President Trump to lower prices, get rid of ridiculous regulations, and unleash Alabama's energy potential."

"In the U.S. Senate, Tuberville has worked to fight burdensome regulations, support critical infrastructure investments, and protect the energy security and economic strength of our state," said Karl Rayborn, CEO of AREA. "We are confident he will continue to champion rural Alabama and common-sense energy policies as governor, and we are proud to back him."

"Coach knows Alabama's future depends on strong energy infrastructure. He gets that meeting growing demand means investing in our grid, cutting red tape, and building the foundation for jobs and growth,"
said Sean Strickler, VP of External Affairs at AREA. "He has the vision — and the guts — to continue the good work being done in our state."
