Welcome to our July newsletter!

This month, we passed legislation to bring transparency and accountability to the American people and supported measures to improve care and services for our veterans. Team Moore also spent time across the district meeting with local leaders, veterans, first responders, and families who work every day to support Alabama.

Voting to advance the Sunshine Protection Act

This month, I voted to permanently end Daylight-Saving Time. It is an outdated method, and it is time to stop resetting our clocks twice a year. This bipartisan bill passed the House and is now awaiting consideration in the Senate. Americans should no longer have to "spring forward" or "fall back," creating unnecessary confusion. Families, students, and workers deserve daylight at the end of the day on a year-round basis.

Supporting the Stop Insider Trading Act

I voted to ban Members of Congress, their spouses, and their dependent children from trading individual stocks. This bill successfully passed the House and is now awaiting Senate action. However, 198 democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, voted against it. Members of Congress should serve the American people, not profit from inside information.

Advancing conservative spending priorities

This month the House passed my Stop Secret Spending Act, legislation requiring federal agencies to report other transaction agreements (OTAs) on USAspending.gov to improve transparency and accountability for taxpayer dollars.

OTAs are legally binding agreements that federal agencies may use outside of traditional contracting, grant, and cooperative agreement processes. Because many of these agreements are not currently required to be reported on USAspending.gov, billions of taxpayer dollars can be spent without the same level of public transparency. The Stop Secret Spending Act closes this reporting loophole by requiring agencies to publicly disclose OTA awards alongside other federal spending.

Voting to strengthen America's military and support service members

I voted in favor of H.R. 8595, the FY2027 National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, legislation that strengthens America's national security, reins in wasteful spending, and ensures taxpayer dollars are spent in the best interest of the American people.

President Trump and Republicans in Congress promised to put America First. This bill helps deliver on that promise. It cuts wasteful spending, strengthens our national security, stands with our allies, and ensures taxpayer dollars serve the American people, not woke bureaucrats or foreign interests. I’m proud to support legislation that puts our country first and keeps our enemies on notice.

Lead Republican pushback against Democrat attack on parents' rights

I led a Republican response letter responding to an effort by 68 House Democrats to oppose greater parental transparency and accountability in children’s programming.

The Left’s priorities are upside down. Sixty-eight House Democrats are choosing radical activists and woke corporations over the rights of parents by fighting against transparency and pushing their agenda onto children. Parents - not Washington bureaucrats, media executives, or special interest groups - should decide what their children watch and what values are taught in their homes. I will always stand with parents and fight to protect their right to raise their children according to their values.

Meeting with Saraland’s Local Leaders

Team Moore enjoyed catching up with Mayor Joe McDonald and Police Chief Bryson McDaniel at Coffee with the Mayor in Saraland. Grateful for their leadership and commitment to keeping their community strong, safe, and growing. Alabama is blessed with local leaders who put their people first.

Honoring PFC Garfield Langhorn

I was proud to celebrate completion and dedication of these new barracks honoring PFC Garfield Langhorn with Senator Britt and Senator Tuberville.Our troops deserve the very best, and I’ll keep fighting to ensure Fort Rucker has the resources it needs to remain the home of Army Aviation for generations to cone.

Honoring our Veterans

Team Moore was proud to attend the Vets 2 Cowboys Open House and National Cowboy Day celebration. We are grateful to everyone who helped make the celebration a success and who continues to stand with the men and women who served our nation.

First Lady Melania Trump Announces Opening of Christmas Volunteer & Performer Applications

Christmas planning is underway at the White House, and President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are excited to continue the cherished tradition of welcoming volunteers to help celebrate the holiday season at the People’s House.

Applications are open for those interested in volunteering for 2026 Christmas at the White House. Americans from every U.S. state and territory are invited to apply for the opportunity to assist with decorating or showcase their talents as a performer at the holiday open houses.

The deadline to submit a volunteer application is Friday, August 28, 2026 at 5:00 PM ET. Selected applicants will be notified by Friday, October 2, 2026 at 5:00 PM ET. Please note that all selected volunteers are responsible for their individual travel, accommodations, and personal expenses.

VOLUNTEER CHRISTMAS DECORATOR APPLICATION

Those interested in volunteering to decorate the White House ahead of the Christmas Season may apply HERE. Please note that any individual applying to volunteer at the White House must be 18 years of age or older to participate. Each person must apply individually; group applications cannot be accepted. Decorating will take place during the week of Monday, November 23 through Sunday, November 29, 2026. Additional details may be found on the application page.

VOLUNTEER HOLIDAY PERFORMER APPLICATION

Performers and musical groups including school bands, choirs, and holiday-themed entertainers are encouraged to apply HERE for the opportunity to perform during the holiday open houses during the month of December. Additional details may be found on the application page.

Congressional App Challenge

Officially launched in 2015, this competition is a nationwide event intended to engage middle and high school students’ creativity and encourage their participation in STEM fields. The Congressional App Challenge allows students to compete with peers in their own district by creating and exhibiting their software applications for web, PC, tablet, mobile devices, and other platforms of their choice. The 2026 competition deadline is scheduled for October 26, 2026 at 12:00 pm ET.

Congress recognizes that STEM and computer-based skills are essential for future economic growth and innovation in our country, and through this challenge, we hope to highlight the value of computer science and STEM education.

The app will be evaluated by a panel of local judges who work within the academic, software, and entrepreneurial fields. The winning app will be featured on the U.S. House of Representatives website and displayed in a U.S. Capitol exhibit.
