The Moore You Know: June 2026
From the office of Congressman Barry Moore (R-AL-01)
From the office of Congressman Barry Moore
Welcome to our June newsletter!
This month, I supported several important legislative efforts focused on financial protections, support for small business growth, and fraud prevention. I voted yes to prevent financial exploitation of vulnerable groups and supported legislation supporting small businesses. This was a great month of June, and I am grateful to continue representing Alabama, and for your continued support.
If you need help from my office with the VA, IRS, or another federal agency, or with a government service like passport processing, please reach out to us. We’ve resolved over 8,000 cases since I took office in 2021. I promise I will continue to fight for you, your family, and Alabama’s 1st Congressional District.
Please reach out to my office at barrymoore.house.gov or 202-225-2901 if we can help you or your family in any way.
Sincerely,
Rep. Barry Moore
Member of Congress

The BLAST Act
This month, I introduced the BLAST Act to prohibit Members of Congress from lobbying Congress after leaving office. The American people are tired of watching career politicians leave office and cash in on the connections they made while serving in government. The BLAST Act is a commonsense reform that puts American taxpayers first, restores faith in our institutions, and sends a clear message that elected office is a public trust, not a pathway to personal profit.
The TIMEOUT Act
I introduced the Terminating Infrastructure Maintenance and Expenditures for Obstructionist Urban Trash heaps (TIMEOUT) Act, legislation that would prohibit federal agencies from occupying, leasing, constructing, or maintaining federal office space in sanctuary jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement efforts.
Sanctuary cities should not be rewarded for refusing to cooperate with federal law enforcement. My legislation ensures that federal resources are invested in communities that support law enforcement, uphold federal law, and prioritize the safety and security of the American people.
Securing the border, restore law and order, and put Americans first
I voted in favor of S. 2, “The Secure America Act” that secures essential funding for securing the border, restoring law and order, and putting Americans First.
The Biden Administration turned its back on our citizens and on their oath and American families paid the price. S. 2 is about consequences. It backs ICE and Border Patrol, and the local enforcement who have been left to clean up Washington’s mess. It backs rule of law.

Honoring Chief K.F. Brooks

Team Moore joined the Semmes, Alabama Fire-Rescue Department to celebrate the renaming of its central fire station in honor of its late Fire Chief, K.F. Brooks. Chief Brooks served the department for 12 years, and our community is forever grateful for his leadership, service, and sacrifice.
Celebrating Growth in South Alabama

Team Moore was honored to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Austal's Module Manufacturing Facility 3. Dedicated to submarine module production, this new facility will play a vital role in supporting the U.S. Navy's goal of delivering one Columbia-class and two Virginia-class submarines each year.
Celebrating Growth in South Alabama

Team Moore toured the Gulf Shores International Airport Terminal and Control Tower with Airport Director Jesse Fosnaugh last! The airport continues to grow rapidly and is planning to add a new terminal to the existing facility. We’re excited to see the continued impact this growth will have on Gulf Shores and communities across Alabama.
