The Office That Holds the Keys to Alabama’s Future

A ballot does not know if you are Republican or Democrat.

It does not know your last name, where you live, what church you attend, or who you voted for.

A ballot has one job.

To carry the voice of the people.

That is why the Secretary of State’s office matters. This is not just another political title. It is the office responsible for protecting the process that determines who leads our state, who writes our laws, and who makes decisions that impact every Alabama family.

Getting the numbers right matters.

Getting the process right matters.

And the person responsible for that process matters.

I have known Wayne Rogers for many years, and I have always respected that he is someone who values service over titles. His life has been dedicated to law, public service, and standing up for what he believes is right.

Wayne grew up in Thomasville, became the first in his family to attend college, built a career as an attorney, served as an Assistant United States Attorney, and has spent years working to serve the people of Alabama.

The Secretary of State should be the referee of Alabama elections.

A referee does not pick the winner.

A referee makes sure the rules are clear and applied fairly.

That is what every voter deserves.

While this office should never be about party, history matters. Since 2007, a Republican has held the Secretary of State’s office in Alabama, and Democrats have struggled to win statewide elections. After nearly two decades, it is fair for voters to ask if it is time for a new perspective, a fresh approach, and a renewed focus on transparency and trust.

Sometimes the answer is not more of the same.

Sometimes it is time to try something different.

My hope is that Wayne Rogers runs a campaign on an island of his own. A campaign where voters from both sides can see who he is without the noise, without the shadows of other offices, and without being defined by anyone else.

Because the Secretary of State is one of the most important offices on the ballot.

It is about more than elections.

It is about confidence in the system that chooses our leaders.

Every ballot represents a person.

Every vote represents a voice.

And Alabama deserves a Secretary of State who understands the responsibility of protecting both.
