Tim Wadsworth Announces Re-Election Bid for Alabama House District 14
Touts priorities of lowering the grocery tax, supporting first responders, improving local infrastructure, and securing funds for schools
Alabama State Representative Tim Wadsworth (R-Arley) has announced that he will seek re-election to continue representing Alabama’s House District 14, which includes portions of Winston, Cullman, Walker, and Jefferson Counties. First elected to the Alabama House in 2014, Wadsworth said his campaign will focus on continuing the conservative leadership and community investment that have defined his time in office.
“I remain committed to the people of Winston, Cullman, Walker, and Jefferson counties,” Wadsworth said. “Over the past eleven years, I have made your concerns a priority in Montgomery by lowering the grocery tax, supporting our first responders, improving local infrastructure, and securing funds for our schools. Our work is not finished, however. I ask for the privilege to continue serving and fighting for the values we share.”
Throughout his tenure, Wadsworth has worked to bring home resources for healthcare, education, and infrastructure across the district. He helped secure new healthcare facilities in Arley, Double Springs, and Nauvoo, and supported ambulance services for Winston County. He also delivered State funding for local schools in West Point, Meek, Addison, Lynn, Double Springs, Parrish, Oakland, Carbon Hill, Sumiton, Corner, and Bagley, while supporting cultural and tourism development projects such as the Looney’s Amphitheater Complex and Cultural Center in Double Springs.
A practicing attorney with degrees in accounting and law, Wadsworth has used his professional background to advance tax relief and business-friendly reforms in the legislature. He played a key role in cutting the State grocery tax from four percent to two percent, with a long-term goal of full elimination, and raised the State’s standard deduction to help working families. He also pushed for higher exemptions on business personal property taxes, now up to $100,000, and helped remove the $110 minimum tax on corporations and limited liability companies.
On infrastructure, Wadsworth has directed significant State investment toward projects such as improvements to I-22 and safety upgrades to Duncan Bridge. He also secured funding for the Wallace State Community Learning Center and numerous volunteer fire departments, helping strengthen rural services throughout District 14. His record includes supporting the formation of several nonprofit organizations—such as in Townley, Carbon Hill, Cordova, Ashridge, and Winston Rescue—to help local groups qualify for grants and expand community support programs.
Wadsworth currently serves as Vice Chair of the Alabama House Judiciary Committee and sits on several others, including Public Safety and Homeland Security, Children and Senior Advocacy, Jefferson County Legislation, and Local Legislation. Known as a steady conservative voice, he has emphasized accountability, fiscal restraint, and practical solutions to local needs rather than partisan rhetoric.
His wife, Dr. Nicole Jones Wadsworth, a business and economic development leader, shares his focus on community service and conservative values. She is also a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Alabama. The couple are often seen attending civic and community events with their children, reflecting their belief that public service begins at home.
If re-elected, Wadsworth said he plans to continue advocating for fiscal responsibility, expanded access to education and healthcare, and stronger public safety. He also intends to promote economic and community development through partnerships with small businesses, local industry, and nonprofit organizations. “I humbly ask for your support and your vote,” Wadsworth said. “Together we can build on what we have accomplished and make House District 14 stronger, safer, and more prosperous for everyone.”
