Tommy Tuberville’s bad bet

From the Alabama Democratic Party

Tommy Tuberville just took $10,000 from a Florida casino billionaire. And it tells you everything you need to know about where his priorities will be as Governor.

The donation came from Jeffrey Soffer, owner of The Big Easy Casino in Hallandale Beach, Florida. Soffer is a billionaire real estate mogul who's been lobbying Florida Republicans for years to expand gambling so he can move his casino operations. And now he's cutting checks to Tommy Tuberville.

This is the first time since 2014 that a casino has directly donated to an Alabama political campaign. The first time in over a decade. And it's going straight into the pocket of a man who claims he wants to be Alabama's next Governor.

Let's connect the dots here: Tommy Tuberville owns a $5 million beach house in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. He barely lives in Alabama — there's an active legal challenge questioning whether he even meets the seven-year residency requirement to run for Governor. He voted in Florida after claiming he moved back to Alabama. And now a Florida casino billionaire is bankrolling his campaign.

Tommy Tuberville isn't working for Alabama. He's working to make his Florida buddies rich.

This is MAGA pay-to-play politics at its worst.

Enough with MAGA pay-to-play politics. Enough with politicians who serve their donors instead of their constituents. Enough with out-of-state billionaires trying to buy Alabama's government.

Let’s send Tommy back to Florida, where he belongs!
